"Cartier" Pewter picture frame - A Gift From Elizabeth Taylor

A VERY TOUCHING AND BEAUTIFUL PIECE!!!!!!!

This is a Lovely "Cartier" Picture frame with a large heart shape for the photograph engraved at the top ""Private Lives / 1983"; at lower left: "Darling Rock & Tom" and at lower right: "Love Elizabeth."

Comes with orignal felt bag from Cartier.

Tom was  Hollywood publicist Tom Clark. Rock Hudson's long time companion. A beautiful picture frame given to Rock Hudson by his very good friend and champion, Elizabeth Taylor, whom he met in 1956 when they starred with James Dean in "Giant."  Elizabeth Taylor appeared on Broadway with Richard Burton in a revival of "Private Lives" in 1983.

Rock Hudson's battle with AIDS and resulting death in 1985 put a face to AIDS and led to Miss Taylors personal involvement in bringing attention to and trying to find a cure for AIDS.

ROCK HUDSON'S DIAMONDS!!!!

This was just found January of 2013 in Rock Hudsons box, inside a small manila envelope, inside another envelope marked "To be set in a mans ring for ME!" With a drawing of the ring. 

This torn envelope with Rock's writing has since been lost.

(Envelope was torn and old, but oh well.)

This is a set of diamonds.  There are seven total.  The large Brilliant cut stone is SI clarity and a fantastic cut.  The six smaller stones are Nauvette cuts (Marquise) and cut brilliantly as well.  All matching. 

Size:  large stone weighs .93 ct.

Size of smaller stones:  .08 ct. ea.  for a total of .48 ct

The total weight of the collection is 1.41 cts.

The stones are"pink diamonds".   Very rare color to find.  They all match perfectly!!

The photos don't show their true color, but rest assured, they are PINK!! 

Looking at the photos it looks as though there are specs of carbon everywhere,  that is just the photo.  They are very clean indeed!!

What a find for sure!!!

"Robinson's" leather zipper bag with Rock Hudson's initials in gold on front.  This bag was used when Rock traveled.  He kept "Medications" inside and it went with him everywhere.

"Savoy Hotel"-London, England

Savoy Hotel-London, England.  This was a plaque from the hotel.  Rock was a regular guest there and they loved him.  He gathered many trinkets from this place.  One other was his bathtub.  Because of Rocks 6'5" stature he did not fit into regular bath tubs.  He did fit in theirs.  They actually sold him one of there bathtubs and shipped it to his home in Beverly Hills where he had it placed in his master bathroom.

"Tiffany & Co." Silver Belt Buckle From Circus of the stars

Sterling silver belt buckle designed like a circus wagon holding a tiger and a lion, engraved "Circus of the Stars" at the top and "Rock Hudson / 1980" below, 2.75" x 3".  The buckle is signed "Tiffany & Co. Sterling" on the back.  The buckle is in the original blue Tiffany Box and felt bag.  "Circus of the Stars" was a television special which aired on CBS from 1977 to1994.  It featured celebrities performing circus-like acts.  Rock Hudson performed on the 5th show.

This is a marker from the Golden Gate International Exposition and I think is copper.

Here is a book of matches from one of Rock's favorite places, the Savoy Hotel, London England.  I am basically giving the match book away but I will include it's nice packing and a C.O.A.  This pays for the rest.  I know many of you out there are match collectors and I do come across them in the boxes and boxes of things I am unpacking.
