ROCK HUDSON - DESK TRASH CAN

THIS WAS A TRASH CAN HE HAD TO HAVE!!!!!!!!

A very solid wooden, hand carved desk trash can with a solid copper liner.  Very heavy piece like most of the of the pieces of furniture around Rock Hudsons home known as "The Castle".  He named it "The Castle" because most of the pieces of furniture and Wrought Iron Railings and Window Trim, etc. were from Castles and Churches in Spain and Portugal.

I remember him telling me a story that he may have got this trash can from a film he was working on, it was one of the props used in the film and the property master told him he could have it.  I don't know if this is old or just a copy.

HERE IS A BEAUTIFUL TABLE USED BY ROCK FOR YEARS!!!!

This is a Wonderful Table.  Its wood grain and color are Beautiful.

There is a funny story behind this table.  Rock Hudson used to love to bet.  He would bet over anything.  We used to bet on games, who would show up for work first that day,  the color of the first car we saw when we went outside, the flip of a coin, sometimes two out of three or four out of seven.  I won this table with the flip of a quarter four out of seven times.  This happened in the very beginning of my employment with him.  (I think he wanted another table any way) This was in his dining room for decades until he changed the feel of the room and purchased a large sectional table that he could rearrange into different configurations.

It has always been a conversation piece in my home and was in Rock's home as well.  When he would dine at my home he would always comment to everyone "that it was once his and how some people loose there shirt gambling, well he lost his table".  Every one would laugh.

ROCK HUDSON - DRESSER MIRROR

This is a dresser mirror Rock Hudson had on the dresser in his bedroom.  This is the mirror that he had his jewelry box sitting in front of.  When putting the final touches on his clothing like cuff links, tie, studs, pins or jewewry, this is the mirror he dressed in front of.  Its made of solid wood and swings forward or backward and locks into place with a custom dowel.  A wonderful piece.

HERE IS A WONDERFUL CHAIR / TABLE.  It is very old as you can tell by the workmanship.  I'm still looking into its history. I believe it is an antique french country chair table.  Rock Hudson had  Appraisels  done on his home and it's contents on a regular basis.  Sometimes every year sometimes every other year.  I have these appraisels.  It was appraised for $750.00 in 1964 converting that to todays prices it would be $7,102.67.   That makes this an incredible deal.

This is an old vase / vessel that was in Rock Hudsons home.  It is excellent condition, and heavy.  He loved that  Mediterraen Style and most everything at his home was from a castle or church in Spain or Portugal.  His home in Beverly Hills, Ca. was nicknamed "The Castle".

Rock had this piece on his crokett lawn where he did a lot of his photo shoots.

Rock would always say "You know you have made it in life if you have a lawn horse".  It was his symbol of wealth.  Rock was one of the most down to earth people you could meet, ever!  He would say these things for fun, not to be mean.  He was very Charitable.

These Two Leather Ottomans were in Living room # 1 at Rock Hudsons home other wise known as "The Castle".    They were orignally upholstered with a Tiger velvet.  That covering wore out and Tom Clark  had them upholstered in a fine leather.   The one picture is from Home And Garden Magazine and shows them in his home.  The other shot shows Tom Clark sitting in front of them at one of Rocks Homes.

This is a wonderful piece.  This solid wooden room divider is very old and hand made and very solid.  Rock Hudson had four of these. Brad Pitt bought three at an auction years ago.  Owning this makes you and Brad Pitt have something personal in common.  You can see it in Rock's living room at "The Castle". This photo is from Home and Garden Magazine part of the L.A. Times sectional and the other photo is from the proof sheet for the book on Rock Hudson by Sara Davidson.
