Here are keys to a car of George's plus the key ring they were on.   The key ring is old leather and fell from the keys.  A wonderful find.

Here is a baseball i found in one of George's  boxes.  I don't know anything about it.  I think I am spelling the name right as well, "Bart Hirshop".

Recently I was asked to search for some items and in my search's I came across a bowl of Keys.  Rock used to always keep his keys in what he called his "Key Central".  He had them all over. 

They were either the kind you buy like a wood carving with a bunch of hooks on it, or the lock box type.  As a joke one time, Tom Clark bought  one and installed it in the kitchen cabinet right above Rock's head where he sat at the kitchen table.  It was carved out of wood and was in the shape of a large key.  It was so tacky.  And to get back at Tom, Rock left it there.  

These keys I recently found are old. Some very old and as a matter of fact, older than I am.  Before my time.   He marked these keys and I did some searching and I think I matched them to there places.   The last ten years I was up at the Castle, I didn't know Rock to mark his keys.  Maybe because he went through them often or maybe he had a bad experience from marking them in the past; I am not sure.  But these keys I recently found are marked and wonderful!  Some were I could barely see the stamp marks until I rubbed them, they were so tarnished.

This is a TWO piece set that looks like car keys.  I am not sure what kind of car it is too, but Rock owned a number of different cars.  Looks like a Chevy or GM.  Maybe a Cadillac.  It hs a little leather key ring.  I leave these the way I find them.  On the one  key it is stamped with both Rock Hudsons initials and Tom Clark's initials.  Tom was Rock's life partner.

KEYS TO ROCK'S HOME IN THE HOLLYWOOD HILLS - 1954

HERE IS A WONDERFUL FIND!!!

This is a THREE key set with a key ring.   They are from Rock's home where he a Phyllis first got together. He bought the home in 1954 and the address is 9151 Warbler Pl.  One of the keys is stamped with address on both sides, one says "gate" and the other is blank.  I leave these just as I find them.

This is a TWO key  with key ring.  All  stamped.    These keys are from Rock's NEW YORK APARTMENT, THE BERESFORD # 19 D.  

The Beresford, at 211 Central Park West, between 81st and 82nd Streets, is an upscale, 23-floor apartment building in New York City. The architect, Emery Roth, was famous for building luxury apartments and hotels throughout the city. The Beresford, completed in 1929, is one of four Roth apartment blocks on Central Park West including the El Dorado (between 90th and 91st Streets), the San Remo (between 74th and 75th Streets), and (on the corner of 92nd street). The Beresford is the largest by volume. Its mass relieved by horizontal belt courses, staggered setbacks governed by the 1916 Zoning Resolution, which provide some apartments with terraces, and architectural detailing that gives an impression of Georgian houses embedded in the mass. It takes its name from the Hotel Beresford, which had occupied the same site since 1889. The Beresford has two very prominent street-front facades, crowned by its three distinctive octagonal copper-capped corner towers, the eastern facade overlooks Central Park; and the southern facade overlooks Theodore Roosevelt Park, the park that contains the American Museum of Natural History.

The massive block is opened to the west, giving it a U-shape, wrapped round a central court. Three elevators give separate access to small foyers, originally each accessing two apartments of a scale that was eliminated in New York, both by the stock market crash and the new Multiple Dwellings Law.

This key is to the office at his Beverly Hills home and comes with a fabulous little Bear fob that is stamped "Berlin".

"SCRAP BOOK" FROM THE MID 1800'S

OMG!!!

This is so facinating I find I can't put it down!!!!!!  It is a scrap book Rock had that I have not a clue where he got or the history.   It is stamped with his library stamp, "From the Library of Rock Hudson-RH" on a hand full of the pages as well as this scrap book as a home made insert and you find the stamp there as well.

THIS IS SO INTERESTING, I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!!!!

It is full of articles from about 1838-1860"s, pasted on the home made pages.   Back then, this is how people filled there shelves with information pertinant to themselves.  Kinda like your computer.

It is bound and has......let me count.....well over 100 pages, PLUS, the insert.   It seems to be broken up in to sections of different color.  There are notations in some one from a long time ago's hand.  Some of the pages in each section are empty as if the process was not complete.  Maybe one of Rock's distant relatives assembeled this and passed it down through the generations.  All  I can say is, WOW.

The book is large, it measures:  approx. 15" x 9" x 2.5"

OVAL GOLD PLATED, PAINTED PORCELEAN PIN

I found this in a box of Rock's.  It must have been his Mothers. 

  It is a porcelean pin, about 2" long and 1.7" wide.  It is hand painted and signed "LC".  It is a very beautiful piece and has no chips.  The gold plating is showing a bit of wear.

ARROW HEADS / SOAP STONE BOX / OBSIDIAN STONES

GREAT FIND!!!!!~~GOOD LUCK!!!!

I just opened another box and in it I found some very fun items. 

In this package, there is this yellow box, I think it is soap stone, and it was full of these other stones and arrow heads.   The stones are obsidian as well as the arrow heads.   Next to the box was this white stone looking piece that I think might be salt or something like that. 

I don't know the story behind these but I know that for luck, Rock, not unlike the rest of us, during his travels would pick up things for good luck.  Rock's, neat wood pieces, charms, etc.  

I will include the white stones with the others as I think they might go together.  The largest stone is just about 2".  The large white stone is approx. 10" x 7".

The box measures: approx.  4" x 2.25" x 2" and the bottom was in pieces.  The hinge is not connected either.

These were most likely Rock's good luck rocks.
