ANTIQUE TIBETAN PRAYER WHEEL

OLD, EXQUISITE ANTIQUE CARVED IVORY WHEEL WITH INLAID TURQUOISE
(TWO SMALL STONES ARE MISSING).

It's about 8 inches in height and the wheel is about 2 inches in diameter

THE HANDLE IS MADE OF YAK BONE.

The prayer scroll inside is darkened with age and is fully intact.

Through one of the many of Rock's travels, he loved to experience the local cultures.  He bought this because he loved it and would play with it often.  Then when my god father, George Nader got it, he did the same.

They each kept it on their desks and on those days where he felt a little help was needed, maybe to get a certain role, help physically, financially, or some other way, they would play with the wheel.

They swore up and down that it helped.

Brass Wall Safe

HERE IS ANOTHER KILLER FIND!!!

It is a brass wall safe.

Rock bought most of his belongings from castles or churchs in Spain or Portugal.   Shipped them home, and set up his Beverly Hills home to the "T".

It measures 16.25H. X 13.35" W. X 12" DEEP.

It weighs 50 pounds.

It is lined with white silk cards but they need a cleaning. 

The door is massive and it is all inlaid with brass pieces.  

Needs a polish.

SINCE CHRISTMAS HAS COME AND GONE, I AM HAVING THAT MIDDLE OF THE

Rock was very into holidays and especially Christmas.  He had a very tall ceiling in one of the living rooms and would get extra large trees.   Sometimes over 20' tall.  He loved to decorate them elaborately.  Sometimes with regular sized pieces but lots n` lots of them.  And then sometimes he would do oversized pieces like this one.  This is a hand blown Christmas Decoration and is heavy.  There are no cracks, fishers, or chips.  It is in great condition.  In the photograph you can see this bulb hanging over his bathtub with his wonderful Butler, James Wright cleaning.    A wonderful piece for any collection.

African wood figurine from Monrovia, Libera, Africa.  Purchased around the 1950's by Rock Hudson, he collected small amounts of African Art. 

A solid wonderful piece.

Egyptian Figurine-Bust

Historical Information: This item is an Egyptian USHABTI.  Ushabtis are magical statues found in tombs and sometimes strewn around excavation sites, left by tomb raiders as they were mainly after the gold and larger artifacts. Egyptians believed these Ushabtis would come to life and serve the dead in their after life and do the  unpleasant chore's and tasks the deceased might be called upon to perform in the afterlife. Because the daily life of ancient Egyptians centered on agriculture, these Ushabtis took on the appearance of field workers. They were mummiform, so as to be identified with Osiris, the god of the dead, but their hands were protruding from the bandages so they could do the work.

George Nader was asked to be a guest at  the International Film Festival in Egypt, Hosted by President Nasser.  Nader is a Lebanese name and George happened to be President Nasser's favorite actor.  The event featured such talent as Roger Moore, Shelly Winters and Robert Conrad among others.  It was a major event.  President Nasser put the talent up in hotels, but asked George Nader to personally be his guest at his palace.  George happily agreed.  George Nader was given a V.I.P. tour of the Pyramids, The Sphinx, The Valley of the Kings  and the rest of the sights in the area.  Upon leaving he was presented with an array of gifts.  One of which was this piece.  This piece comes with a copy of the photo album of this trip and includes copies of Film Festival programs and  more.Thispiece and the other pieces of Egyptian Antiquities we have for sale were not looted, as most were, weather in recent years or long ago, but given as gifts by the then President Nasser To George Nader himself.  A true buy!!!!!!

Clear Ball Marble, with Multi Colored Swirl Pattern in Center

Clear ball with multi colored swirl pattern in center. George Nader collected marbles in his youth and this is one that he had since childhood.  He always would comment that "He hasen't lost his marbles."
